Vigilance Awareness Week
The Central Vigilance Commission celebrates Vigilance Awareness Week each year of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's Birthday (October 31) every year.
        • Vigilance awareness week will be celebrated from 29th October to 03 November, 2018 this year.
        • This year the subject of Vigilance Awareness Week is 'Purge Corruption - Make New India'.
        • Central Vigilance Commission inspires stakeholders to participate collectively in the fight against corruption in the Vigilance Awareness Week.
        • The objective of Vigilance Awareness Week is to create awareness among the people about corruption.
        • Awareness Village Sabha is organized to spread awareness among the village panchayats (rural and semi-urban areas) so that the villagers can be sensitized about the ill effects of corruption.
        • It was organized in 67,131 Gram Sabhas during the Vigilance Awareness Week in the year 2017.
First world agriculture award
The founder of Green Revolution in India, famous agricultural scientist and famous architect, M.S. Swaminathan has been awarded the First World Agricultural Award for his contribution to Indian agriculture.
        • The prize money of $ 100,000 (Rs. 73,45,500) was awarded under this award established by the Non-Governmental Indian Food and Agriculture Council.
        • That MS Swaminathan is also the founder of Research Foundation (MSSRF).
        • Professor M.S. Swaminathan was given this award during the 11th Global Agricultural Leadership Summit held in New Delhi recently.
        • MS on this occasion Swaminathan Junior Research Fellowship was also established, this fellowship will be provided from 2019.
Manas National Park
India and Bhutan have agreed to work on an Integrated River Basin Management Plan for Manas river which flows through India-Bhutan countries. This river flows from Bhutan to Assam, which later goes into river Brahmaputra.
        • Manas National Park (MNP) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is spread over 850 square kilometers on the Indo-Bhutan border.
        • This initiative makes a joint effort to address the rapidly changing floods on the border in the context of livelihood, food security, life, property and infrastructure in the eastern Himalayas, especially Assam.
        • The objective of this project is to build trust and cooperation in the two-nation basin cooperation between India and Bhutan.
        • This project will conduct ecosystem-based approaches including flood alert treatment system, sediment management, community based adaptation and other early warning systems.
Adenovirus
Recently, a fatal outbreak of a virus in New Jersey, America killed many people. Significantly, this virus is taking the children of young people in their grip.  
      • Adenovirus is believed to be the cause of this outbreak.
      • Adenovirus is a virus that grows on the lining of the breathing hose, intestine, eye or urinary tract. This virus can cause colds, pneumonia, digestive disorders, and urinary infection.
      • There are dozens of strains of this virus, but the outbreak of adenovirus 7 is being told.
      • Especially adenovirus 7 is dangerous and can cause major respiratory complications including pneumonia.
      • Although there is usually a notion that adenovirus does not die. This virus is also dominated by those whose immune system is weak, as is the case with the children of New Jersey.
