Second report on cross border lending

The Insolovency Law Committee-ILC, set up for the recommendation of the amendment in the Indian Bankruptcy and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, submitted its second report to the government.  Committee recommendations ILC has recommended the implementation of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) draft law for cross border loan repatriation, since it includes comprehensive provisions for dealing with cross border debt relief issues.  The Committee has also recommended certain provisions for resolving any discrepancy between the provisions relating to domestic lending capacity and proposed border crossings. Why in discussion Recently, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) has developed a hybrid maize which is being claimed that it is rich in Pro-Vitamin-A along with lysine and Tryptophan, the world's first maize. Important point After wheat and rice, maize is India's third most important foodstuff.  It is used for making foods such as chips, flakes, popcorn etc. The amount of carbohydrate in maize grains is high (65-75%) and protein is low (7-12%), and this protein contains very low amounts of essential amino acids like lysine and tryptophhen. Lysine and Tryptophan are essential amino acids (protein blocks of proteins) which can not be synthesized by the body.  They should be supplied only by diet. NASA named Hama, gamma ray beams placed on Godzilla

American Space Agency NASA scientists have given a new name to the set of 21 gamma beam beams.  Their names have been kept on fictional films like Hulk and Godzilla.  Scientists have named it on the occasion of completion of ten years of Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope Mission. key points  Gamma rays are emitted from the events occurring in space, such as the explosion of stars, black holes etc. By 2015, Fermi had detected about three thousand sources of gamma rays.  The number of discovered sources is estimated to be equal to the number of bright stars in space.  So scientists have prepared groups of these rays. They have been given names by scientists keeping in mind the size of the group of stars. Green Diwali- Healthy Diwali

Keeping in view the importance of the festival of lights along with the adverse effects of fireworks lit on Diwali, the Environment Ministry has started the Green Diwali campaign. This year this campaign will be run throughout the country.  The merger of 'Green Diwali-Healthy Diwali' campaign has now been done in the 'Green Good Deed' campaign, which has been started as a social solidarity for environmental protection. Background Green Diwali-Healthy Diwali Program was started in the year 2017-18. During that time, a large number of schoolchildren, especially those related to the eco-club, had participated in this campaign and took oath to at least crack the crackers. Government formed panel to look into cases of sexual harassment

The government has constituted a Group of Ministers (GOM) under the leadership of Home Minister Rajnath Singh to strengthen the legal and institutional frameworks to deal with sexual harassment cases and to prevent this. key points  The ministerial group will be chaired by the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh.  Its members include Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Central Women and Child Development Minister Menaka Gandhi. The Minister Group will examine the existing legal and institutional frameworks to deal with cases related to sexual harassment of women at the workplace.
